The First Official Mother’s Day
President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed the first official Mother’s Day on May 9, 1914. This proclamation was a proclamation was particularly meaningful to Ana Jarvis, who several years prior had started a campaign to establish a national Mother’s Day holiday to remember her own mother who had recently died. Jarvis wanted a day where all mother’s - past and present - could be honored.
Today Mother’s Day is a popular holiday, where gifts and cards are sent around the world.
The official flower for Mother’s Day is the carnation. Pink carnations are for living mothers, and white carnations are for those who have passed on.

Use the “Where’s My Refund” tool at the IRS.gov website to find out if you are one of the 115,478 taxpayers whose check was returned as undeliverable. Simply visit IRS.gov and follow the instructions to see if you are due a refund. You may also access the “Where’s My Refund” tool by phone, by calling: 1-800-829-1954. Who knows? You might just find yourself with a little extra shopping money this holiday season!
Chuck Norris: Mike Huckabee’s Sensei?
According to the guys over at Yahoo Buzz, there seems to be an extreme trend in searches for ‘Chuck Norris’ and ‘Mike Huckabee’, ever since Norris started endorsing the presidential candidate who is the former Governor of Arkansas.
Some of Huckabee’s main campaign agenda includes finding a way to improve the nation’s infrastructure, education system, environmental policy and failing health care system.
Norris has a running endorsement via television, and can be seen over on YouTube.com.
All I can say is that Chuck has a lot of sway with a lot of people, and his backing of Huckabee could prove to be a HUGE advantage.
Huckabee, you have my vote…..HI-YAH!
