According to a recent authority about dogs, and also from a published listings from vets across the U.S., they have compiled the top ten names people name their dogs. Unlike baby names, which tend to be unique, and at times, downright confusing, dog owners seem to take the more traditional approach when naming their pooches.

Here is the list of the more popular American doggie names that people have chosen:

2. Maggie
3. Buddy
4. Bailey
5. Jake
6. Sam or Sammy
7. Molly
8. Nikki
9. Coco
10. Sadie

I was actually disappointed not to see Rusty, Spot, Blacky and Spike on that list, but hey, they may be in the top 20…

Okay, it is 5:30 am and I just stumbled to the cpu to check my email, when I came across a news bulletin at Yahoo about the new “designer cats”, the Ashera.

Being a cat lover, and animal lover in general, this news bulletin caught my eye.

After more research, I am understanding that this beautiful cat is a  mix between an African Serval and Asian Leopard cat with a domestic cat. Which, in turns, creates the world’s most expensive hybrid feline, the Ashera.

The Ashera, an exclusive product of Brodie’s firm Lifestyle Pets, resembles a little leopard and can weigh up to 30 pounds. But it’s more suited for lounging than stalking prey. According to the creator, they are very loving and affectionate.

Although an Ashera costs $22,000 (plus $6,000 for the premium placement option which will expedite kitten delivery by about six months) Lifestyle Pets has already sold several cats to customers around the world since it was unveiled in May.
