World’s First Pregnant Man?

Okay, growing up there was a popular saying around here among men. “If I could get prgnant, I would be rich”. I’m sure you heard it? No? Well anyways, we have a winner, by a man named Thomas Beattie, who lives in Oregon and is married to his wife Nancy.

Thomas is a transgender, legally male, and legally married to his female wife, Nancy.

Unlike couples in same-sex marriages, domestic partnerships, or civil unions, Thomas and Nancy are afforded the more than 1,100 federal rights of marriage. Sterilization is not a requirement for sex reassignment, so Thomas decided to have chest reconstruction and testosterone therapy but kept his reductive organs.

Thomas claims “to have a biological child is not a male or female desire, but a human desire”.

This could be the weirdest news story to ever break on the planet, and I definately do believe Thomas and Nancy will become very wealthy if the birth is a success.

Ideas For Gift Baskets

Gift baskets are a hot commodity with predictions of over 4 billion dollars in annual sales last year. Gift baskets are hard to beat as they can be tailored to just about any event, holiday or occasion. Whether you just got a promotion, had a baby, went to the hospital, retired, graduated from college or even bought a new home, a gift basket can be the perfect gift.

There are more and more sites offering premade gift baskets for sale, and even more starting to spring up that offer customised gift giving. Heck, you can even make your own gift baskets, tailored to the event or occasion or person. I have a few ideas outlined below:

Wine Gift Basket: Fill a wicker basket or picnic basket with cheese wedges, gourmet crackers, a cheese slicer, small cheese board, a bottle of wine, corkscrew, book or magazine about wine, or a gift certificate to local liquor store. It’s a nice idea to line the basket with a tea towel or cloth napkin with a wine theme.

Valentines Day: History and Symbols

Have you ever wondered where all the different symbols used on Valentine’s day came from? After some research, we have figured a few out.

The heart is one of the most popular symbols associated with the holiday. Although it is not exactly clear when it became the symbol, some scholars speculate that the heart, which today signifies romance or love, came from early attempts of people to draw an organ they have never seen.

Red roses, were said to be the favorite flower of Venus, the Roman Goddess of Love. Also, red is a color that signifies strong feelings.

Cupid, is also another Roman import, as he was the Roman God of Love. At one time Cupid was a muscled, full grown man,  sporting a bow and invisible arrows that he would shoot people with to make them fall in love. Over the years he devolved into a child-like symbol, to make him more ‘user friendly’ for men and woman alike.

Compatibility of Zodiac Signs

With all of the popular dating and mating sites out there today, it still seems that a good basis for a lot of people is still the old fashioned ’sign compatibility’.

It has been thought that forever, the one main thing determining if a relationship would work, is by taking the two individual’s zodiac signs, and comparing them for compatibility.

Astrological compatibility, also known as Synastry, describes how one particular Zodiac sign is compatible with another. Compatibility between two signs was described in words or rated in numbers to give an idea on how, according to relationship astrology experts, one person is compatible or incompatible with another one, based on their Zodiac signs.

In society today, wether it be using Chinese astrology, Western astrology or Vedic astrology, one thing is strongly common, is that millions of superstitious people still use this ancient formula, to determine if a presumed relationship will possibly succeed.

Laser Tvs - Do They Exist?

Laser TV - Last year there was some mention about something called a “laser television”, floating around the television technology world, but it had some of the LCD and Plasma big boys calling the whole technology an outright scam. But it does, however, seem to exist in some form now. Laser TV is a projector TV technology that uses lasers instead of incandescent lamps to create light. Proponents say it uses less power and allows for lighter sets than even LCDs offer, with “bulbs” that never burn out.

This technology seems to have existed for some time now, but with people finally being turned on to LCD’s and Plasma TVs, as they are finally becoming more affordable, technology is almost becoming ‘a pain’ as there is starting to be overwhelming choices and questions with anything you can buy anymore. At one time it was just a matter of color or black-and-white, and which size? Now, there are literally hundreds of choices and options, and seems buying a television is now more difficult than buying a new car.
